With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Purvis Forston, who left this world on May 4, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on March 4, 1935, in the close-knit community of Grand Cane, Louisiana, Purvis was a beacon of love, wisdom, and strength to all who knew him.
Purvis was the cherished son of the late Curtis Walter Sr. and Reather Mae Walter, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness that he carried throughout his life. He was predeceased by his beloved parents and his dear siblings Willie Mae Lewis, Florence B. Williams, Curtis Walter Jr., Eula M. Walter, and Dorthy M. Caldwell, all of whom he loved deeply.
Purvis shared a beautiful and enduring marriage with his devoted wife, Arma Forston, whose partnership brought him immense joy and comfort. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising their children with unwavering love and guidance. He leaves behind five adoring children: Michael Forston, Purvis Forston Jr., Earl Forston, Bertha Forston, and James Fortson, each a testament to his nurturing spirit and legacy of love.
Purvis was also blessed with a large and devoted extended family. He is survived by his siblings Ola Lewis, Willie Walter, Earl Lee Walter, Robert James Walter, Susie Tucker, and Minnie Walter, all of whom held a special place in his heart. His family was the centerpiece of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
For over 50 remarkable years, Purvis dedicated himself to his work at Calhon Properties, where he undertook multiple roles with diligence and pride. His unparalleled work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. His contributions to the company and his community were both significant and lasting.
Purvis Forston's legacy is one of love, resilience, and community. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his gentle smile, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and appreciated. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of family.

The service will be held at 11:00 AM at the Old Bethlehem Cemetery, located at 370 Simmons Rd, Gloster, LA 71030.
