Priscilla Mae Gordon

August 25, 1929 — April 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Priscilla Mae Gordon, affectionately known as "Mae Mae," who departed this world peacefully at home on April 23, 2026. Born on August 25, 1929, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Priscilla graced this earth with 96 years of love, wisdom, and compassion. She now rests in eternal peace, joyously reunited with her beloved husband, Gene, whom she dearly missed for 34 years. Priscilla was the cherished daughter of Luther and Ottie McConnehey, and the sister of David and Paul McConnehey, who preceded her in death. She grew up in the close-knit community of Churubusco, Indiana, where she graduated from Churubusco High School in 1948, laying the foundation for a life filled with kindness and dedication to others. On April 22, 1950, Priscilla married the love of her life, Gene Gordon, in a heartfelt ceremony in Churubusco, Indiana. Their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment, as they shared countless joyful years at Blue Lake, surrounded by family and friends. Together, they created a home that was a haven for all who entered, with laughter echoing through the walls and warm memories made around the campfire. Priscilla worked at Blue Bell in Columbia City before choosing to dedicate her life to nurturing her family. Her daughter, Julie Beth, was the light of her life, and Priscilla devoted herself to being a mother who offered unwavering support and love. Her grandchildren, Tanner McCartney (Katelyn), Lauren McCartney (Justin), and Morgan Pedroza (Jeremiah), were blessed to call her "Mae Mae," a name synonymous with kindness, cookies, and endless hugs. To her ten great-grandchildren—Vincent, Delilah, Amelia, Brantley, Remington, Everleigh, Parker, Charlotte, Cooper, and Priscilla—she was their safe harbor and guiding light. Priscilla's life was a tapestry woven with threads of unconditional love, generosity, and resilience. Her warm smile and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She taught us all the beauty of simplicity and the importance of cherishing the moments spent with loved ones. A service to honor and celebrate Priscilla's remarkable life will be held on April 30, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Eel River Cemetery, located at 11022 Carroll Rd, Churubusco, IN 46723. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Whitley County, reflecting Priscilla's lifelong love for animals. As we bid farewell to Priscilla Mae Gordon, we hold her memory dearly within our hearts, knowing that her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Mae Mae, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
