In Loving Memory

Phyllis Parry
May 20, 1934 — April 18, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Phyllis Parry, who departed this life on April 18, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on May 20, 1934, in the picturesque town of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Phyllis was a beacon of joy and kindness throughout her long and fulfilling life.
Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband, Edmund Parry, with whom she shared many cherished years. She now reunites with her dear sister Juanita Parker, brother Benjamin Frisbie, her three sons—Norman, Frankie, and Karl Parry—and her cherished granddaughter, Kassandra Custard.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Christine Custard and Doris Marici, and her son, Edmund Parry. Her legacy continues through her granddaughters, Ashley Custard, Jackie Eck, and Karlee Parry, and her grandson, Michael Parry. Phyllis's spirit and laughter live on in her great-grandchildren—Ben, Izabella, Oliver, Liam, Christian, Kellyn, and Karter—whom she adored beyond measure.
For over 40 years, Phyllis was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale, where she built lasting friendships and shared her unwavering faith. Her church community was a cherished part of her life, and she touched many lives with her kindness and compassion.
Phyllis was known for her infectious humor and the warmth she brought to every room. Her jokes could lighten even the heaviest of hearts, and her laughter—rich and full—was a testament to her joyful spirit. Her family and friends will forever remember her for her undying love and the way she could make anyone feel at home.
Phyllis had a zest for simple pleasures, finding joy in evenings spent playing bingo and dominos with her dear friends. Yet, it was in the company of her great-grandchildren that she found her greatest happiness, cherishing every moment spent in their presence.
A service to celebrate Phyllis's extraordinary life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Homes, located at 2 Hospital St, Carbondale, PA 18407. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to join us in remembering a remarkable woman who brought so much light and love into the world.
Though Phyllis has left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift us, reminding us always of the beauty of a life well-lived. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.
