Born on May 24, 1945, in the quaint town of Consul Bluf, Iowa, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of Ferdinand and Elvira Dibbern . Her life was a tapestry of love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family. In her early years, Phyllis discovered a love for the great outdoors, a passion that would remain a constant throughout her life. She found immense joy in camping and fishing, but it was the time spent hunting with her beloved husband, Richard, that she treasured most. The mountains were her sanctuary, a place where she felt most at peace and connected to the world around her. Phyllis married Richard Monahan on January 26, 1963, embarking on a journey of love that spanned 58 beautiful years until Richard's passing in 2021. Together, they built a life rich with memories, shared adventures, and an enduring bond that inspired all who knew them. Phyllis was a devoted mother to her children, Sandra Arling, Patti Negaard, Tammy McAllister, and Perry Monahan, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her heart swelled with pride for her 28 great grandchildren’s and grandchildren, including Cory Arling, Natasha Arling, Amber Monahan, Hannah Monahan, Nicolas Perez, Marissa Guzman, Chelsea Parentas, Tiffany Monahan, Shayla McAllister, Jaylynn McAllister, Zidaya McAllister, Deja McAllister, Ziah McAllister, and Vanetria McAllister, each of whom she cherished deeply. Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard, her father Ferdinand, her mother Elvira, and her sisters Sharon Kist and Deanna. While their absence leaves an irreplaceable void, Phyllis's spirit remains a guiding light for her family, a testament to the enduring power of love. Her kind heart and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a beacon of love and strength, always ready with a warm smile and an open heart. Her legacy is one of compassion, adventure, and deep familial bonds, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
