Phyllis Hartley born Shaw

Phyllis Hartley, born Shaw, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 16, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on February 4, 1964, in Mobile, Alabama, Phyllis lived life by beat of her own drum. She lived life without compromise. Phyllis was the cherished daughter of Webster and Joann Shaw (Brown). She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Johnson, Sr., her father Webster Shaw, her grandparents, as well as aunts and uncles who were dear to her heart. She is survived by her beloved only son Michael Johnson Jr. (lil Mike), her devoted mother, Joann Shaw; her only sister, Kim Shaw; and her brothers, Webster Shaw, along with his wife Peggy, and Conrad Shaw, with his wife Ashley. Phyllis was the aunt to a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, and she leaves behind many friends who will miss her dearly. Phyllis was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She had a way of making everyone feel a special way and her presence will be deeply missed. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mobile Infirmary for the special care they provided to Phyllis in her final moments. Their compassion and professionalism were a great comfort to the family during this difficult time. A service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1302 St. Stephens Rd, Prichard, Alabama, 36610. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Phyllis are invited to attend and honor her memory. Phyllis's legacy of unwavering strength and stand on life will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she shared so freely.
