Born on December 19, 1950, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Phyllis was a beacon of warmth and joy to all who knew her. She was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Edwin and Anita Waldrup, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and family devotion. A proud native of Drew, Mississippi, Phyllis carried her hometown spirit wherever she went. After completing her education in high school and cosmetology, she embarked on a remarkable 47-year career as a hairdresser. Through her work, Phyllis touched the lives of countless clients, many of whom became lifelong friends, as she had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and beautiful. Phyllis was a dedicated member of Drew Baptist Church, where she found a community that mirrored her own deep faith and values. Her commitment to her church and community was evident in her everyday actions and the genuine care she extended to those around her. Family was the cornerstone of Phyllis's life. She was the beloved wife of "Ed" William Earl Manning Jr., with whom she shared a life rich in love and laughter. Together, they raised their son, Casey Manning, who brought them immense pride and joy. Phyllis's heart expanded with the arrival of her grandchildren, Balylor and Palmer Manning, who were her greatest delight and constant source of happiness. Phyllis's brother, Mike Waldrup, and her Uncle Tommy Waldrup were also cherished parts of her life, sharing in countless family gatherings and celebrations. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, as well as her loving father-in-law, William Earl Manning, and mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Manning, whom she held in high regard. In addition to her family, Phyllis had a vibrant social life and a wide circle of friends. She found joy in playing Bunco with her friends once a month and cherished the girls' trips that created memories she would treasure forever. Her adventurous spirit led her to enjoy camping and traveling, experiences that enriched her life and brought her closer to her loved ones. As we remember Phyllis, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
