Phyllis was born on December 10, 1949, in Seat Pleasant, Maryland, and she departed this world peacefully at home on December 24, 2025. Her journey was marked by love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Phyllis was the beloved daughter of William Herman and Ray Gloria, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her devoted husband, Eugene A. Pastorek, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted son and daughter, and four treasured grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Phyllis was a beacon of love, a caring and supportive presence who always put her family first. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature were evident in her 40-year career in childcare, where she enriched the lives of countless children and their families.
Phyllis was an active member of the Eldersburg, MD community and a dedicated congregant of Joseph Catholic Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, providing her with strength and solace throughout her journey.
Her love of country music and dogs brought her joy, and she had a special talent for babysitting, which she lovingly extended to her grandchildren and the children she cared for professionally. Phyllis had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel special and loved, a testament to her generous heart and compassionate soul.
A service to honor Phyllis's beautiful life will be held on January 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Joseph Catholic Church, located at 915 Liberty Rd. Family, friends, and all who knew her are invited to join in celebrating her life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Phyllis's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and desire to help others.
