Born on July 12, 1955, in the warm embrace of Texas, Scott's life was a tapestry of creativity, music, and an unwavering dedication to the people and passions he cherished most.
Scott was the beloved son of the late Emus Richard and Eve Perkins, who predeceased him but undoubtedly left an indelible mark on his life. He is survived by his two adoring daughters, Rochelle "Shelly" Richard and Nicole Berry, who remember him not only as a devoted father but as an inspiring figure who lived life to its fullest.
Scott's journey in education began with a GED, a testament to his determination and perseverance. His professional life blossomed in the world of graphic design, where he specialized in printed materials, skillfully merging art with communication. Beyond his graphic design career, Scott's heart and soul resonated with music. An accomplished musician, he was a vibrant force in the bands Cinnamon and Landslide, where his talent and passion for music shone brightly. A crowning achievement in his musical career was his formal induction into The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016, an honor he shared with his cherished bandmates Tom Suter, Anne Davis, Steve Reese, Liz Reese, Hal Saylor, Mark Houseal, Mick Sobolik, Mark Rayer, and Barb Wagner.
Scott's life was a symphony of creativity and love, deeply enriched by his hobbies and interests.
