Phillip Rhay

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Phillip Rhay, who left this world peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on June 25, 1944, in the quaint town of Myrtle Point, Oregon, Phillip was the beloved son of the late Everett and Alice Rhay. His life was a testament to faith, love, and service, touching the lives of many and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Phillip was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Everett A. Rhay, David W. Rhay, Angela J. Stuart, and Evan J. Rhay, who carry forward his legacy with pride. His deep love for his five grandchildren, including Cash M. Johns, and Braydan Stuart, was evident in the joy and wisdom he imparted to them. Education played a significant role in Phillip's life, leading him to the Christian Heritage Institute, where he pursued a ministry that would shape his future. As an ordained Bishop through the Institute, Phillip dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his faith. His service on the Board of Directors for the Christian Heritage Institute in Florence, Oregon, and his active membership at the Five Hills Assembly of God in Copperas Cove, Texas, defined his unwavering commitment to his spiritual community. Phillip's life was rich with interests and hobbies that mirrored his compassionate nature. He found immense joy in mentoring others in their faith, sharing his knowledge and kindness with those around him. His love for woodworking and gardening provided him with solace and a creative outlet, while his family remained his greatest source of happiness. Known for his quick wit and gift for storytelling, Phillip's humor and warmth were cherished by everyone who met him. His ability to weave wisdom into his stories, coupled with his steadfast devotion to his faith, left a lasting impression on all who had the honor of crossing his path. Phillip's legacy of laughter, love, and service will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Five Hills Assembly of God, located at 302 E. Ave D, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man who dedicated his life to faith and community. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Five Hills Assembly of God in Copperas Cove, TX, in honor of Phillip's lifelong devotion to his church.
