Philip John Komorny, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on September 17, 2026, at his home, enveloped by the love and comfort of his family. Born on April 24, 1945, in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philip was the cherished son of John Casper and Dorothy Craig Mannuel, both of whom predeceased him.
Philip’s life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and unwavering love. Raised in a family that valued education and personal growth, he pursued his passion for understanding the human mind at Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Determined to make a difference in the lives of others, Philip furthered his education at Springfield College in Massachusetts, obtaining a Master of Science in Education specializing in Rehabilitation Counseling.
His career was marked by an unwavering commitment to helping those struggling with addiction. As a devoted counselor and the director of Outpatient Services at Mirmont Treatment Center in Media, Pennsylvania, Philip touched countless lives. His gentle guidance and empathetic nature provided hope and healing to many, earning him the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients.
Philip’s personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. He shared a beautiful 41-year marriage with his loving wife, Mary Anne, whose companionship and support were the cornerstones of his happiness.. Philip is also survived by hisson Robert Hagland,his brother, John Komorny, and a close-knit extended family who will forever cherish the memories of his warmth and wisdom.
In accordance with Philip’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Philip’s memory consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting the giving spirit that defined his life.
Philip John Komorny will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a beacon of hope and compassion, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
