Philip Holloway, a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in hospice in Troy, Ohio, on September 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Born on December 11, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Philip was the beloved son of the late Arthur Eugene Holloway, Sr., and Myrtle Louise Holloway.
Raised in a close-knit family, Philip was the cherished brother to Arthur and Vincent. After graduating from Thorton High School, he pursued further education at a local community college, where he honed the skills that would serve him throughout his career as a phone service technician. Known for his industrious spirit, Philip often joked that he had worked "every job, everywhere," a testament to his tireless work ethic and versatile talents.
In 1980, Philip married the love of his life, Nahketah Gaillard. Together, they raised three wonderful sons, Philip, Kevin, and Matthew, instilling in them the values of kindness, dedication, and humor. Philip's legacy continues through his two grandchildren, Josef and Mikayla, who brought immense joy to his life.
Philip was a man of many passions. A lifelong fan of Chicago sports, he could often be found cheering for the White Sox and the Bears. His love for jazz music provided a melodic backdrop to his life, and he shared this passion with those around him. In his community, Philip was known as a little league baseball coach in University Park, IL, where he was admired not only for his expertise but also for his infectious humor and unwavering commitment to the youth he coached.
Philip touched many lives with his warm spirit and generous nature. He was an active member of his community, celebrated for both his technical skills and his ability to bring laughter and joy to any situation. His favorite saying, "I'm doing pretty fair for a square," encapsulated his humble and humorous outlook on life.
Philip Holloway leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish each moment and to live with a heart full of love.
