August 2, 1954 — June 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Philip Ham, who peacefully departed this world on June 13, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on August 2, 1954, to Arline and E. Wesley Ham, Phil lived a life rich with love, laughter, and a distinct zest for life that touched all who knew him. Phil was a proud graduate of Nokomis Regional High School and furthered his education at Eastern Maine Technical College. His diverse career began with his work as a mechanic at Cianbro, where he honed his skills and nurtured a passion for machinery. He later found fulfillment in his role as a self-employed carpenter, bringing homes to life and leaving a tangible legacy through his craftsmanship. Beyond his professional endeavors, Phil was a man of many interests. An avid fisherman, he never passed up the opportunity to cast a line and share the serenity of the water. He was equally passionate about the mechanical world, finding joy in resurrecting old tractor motors, his hands breathing life back into them. In his later years, his greatest joy came from spending time with family, especially getting to know his nieces and nephews, and embracing the cherished role of a great uncle. Phil was known for his unique personality, defined by a love of laughter and a penchant for sarcastic humor that often danced on the edge of mischief. His playful spirit and warm smile were a testament to his ability to bring joy and light into the lives of those around him. Phil’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Hodgkins, Delmas Hodgkins, nephew David Hodgkins, and niece Dawn Dittmar. He is survived by his brother Harvey Hodgkins, sisters Betty Lane, Alice with her husband, Vanadestine, Darlene with her husband, Wayne Charrier, Rochelle with her husband, Jay Olerich, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who will deeply miss him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Sebasticook Valley Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center for the wonderful care provided to Phil. Special thanks go to Sydney for her unwavering support and to Phil’s many friends for their kindness and companionship. A time of remembrance will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will come together to celebrate Phil’s life and the indelible mark he left on this world. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Phil's memory by teaching a child to fish. Buy them a pole, a license, and share with them the love of fishing that Phil cherished so dearly. Phil’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him—a testament to a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
