Philip Curtis Siler II

Philip Siler, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully left this world on September 5, 2026, at Bethesda Assisted Living Home in Anthem, Arizona, following a brief illness. Born on July 27, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, Philip lived a life rich with love, laughter, and a passion for the things and people he cherished most. Philip was the son of the late Philip C. Siler and Grace E. Franklin. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Jane, and his precious son, Melvin Michael. Philip's life was filled with the love of his wife, Carolyn Jeanne Siler, with whom he shared a marriage of 67 years. Together, they built a family that Philip was immensely proud of, including his children Philip C. Siler III and wife Tanya, David J. Siler and wife Tammy, Scott A. Siler and wife Traci, and Michelle R. Johnson and husband Philip. He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. Philip's career was as diverse and fulfilling as his hobbies. He began his working life as a machinist, eventually transitioning to a career as an insurance salesman with Metropolitan Life, where he eventually retired. Philip later found joy in working at Sears Hardware and Chick-fil-A. His passion for sports and family activities was extremely evident. An avid New York Yankees fan, Philip was a collector of sports memorabilia and anything else that piqued his interest. In his younger adult life, he played minor league baseball and later shared his love for the sport by coaching his sons' baseball teams. His enthusiasm for sports extended to playing golf, bowling, and enjoying miniature golf outings with his family. Philip was deeply committed to his community and faith, as evidenced by his membership at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. He and Jeanne found great joy in working as ushers at Albuquerque Isotopes games, where they welcomed fans and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere. Family gatherings were a cornerstone of Philip's life, and he relished every opportunity to spend time with loved ones. Whether attending his grandchildren's games and school events, playing board games, or savoring a meal of enchiladas and peanut butter cake, Philip's humor and love for family made every moment special. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Bethesda Assisted Living for their unwavering kindness and care for Philip in his final months. They also express deep appreciation to all family members and friends who visited and supported Philip during this time. In honoring Philip's memory, the family kindly suggests donations to be made to a charity of choice or a local sports organization, reflecting his lifelong love of sports and community. Philip's legacy is one of love and commitment. He touched many lives with his kindness and enthusiasm, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
