Peter 'Pete' Paul Jolin
May 29, 1951 — July 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter 'Pete' Paul Jolin, who left this world peacefully on July 13, 2026, at Hospice House in Newport, North Carolina. Born on May 29, 1951, in the charming town of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Pete was a light to all who knew him, embodying warmth, resilience, and an infectious zest for life.
Pete was the beloved son of the late Alfred and Malvina Jolin, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. These values guided him throughout his life, especially during his admirable service with the United States Marine Corps. After his military tenure, Pete found joy and camaraderie at Henry's Bait and Tackle, where he worked for many years. There, he combined his love for fishing with his passion for meeting new people, forming connections that lasted a lifetime.
Pete was predeceased by his cherished wife, Patricia Evon Godby Jolin, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and adventures. Together, they created a beautiful family, which was the cornerstone of Pete's life. He is survived by his sons, Christopher Jolin and Joseph Jolin, and his two bonus daughters, Jenier Jolin and Laura Jolin. His legacy continues through his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought him immense joy and pride.
In addition to his family, Pete's heart was filled with a love for the great outdoors, especially the art of fishing. He found peace and happiness by the water, casting lines and sharing stories with both friends and strangers alike.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at SECU Hospice in Newport, North Carolina, for their compassionate care during Pete's final days. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
For those who wish to honor Pete's memory, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Carteret County Humane Society in Newport, NC, an organization close to Pete's heart.
Pete's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
