Peter David Tollmann Sr

November 26, 1945 — June 20, 2026

Peter David Tollmann Sr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20th, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife, Sharon, and his immediate family. Born on November 26, 1945, in Long Island, NY, Peter lived a life marked by service, love, and unwavering commitment to family and country. Peter was the son of Edward Russell Tollmann and Ruth Tollmann, who predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sharon Tollmann, and their children: Debbie Tollmann Hall of Sebastian, Florida, and Peter David Tollmann Jr. and his wife Krista of Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Peter also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Hannah Marie Clark, Peter David Tollmann III, Ansley Tollmann, and Hailey Hall, as well as four great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Edward, Robert, Mark, Nancy, and Jane Tollmann, along with countless close friends, including Ginny Gearhart, Stan Baran, and all the Bender boys, whose memories and support were treasured by Peter. A proud graduate of Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon, Connecticut, Peter's patriotism led him to serve in the United States Air Force, where he performed maintenance on the C130 airship. His dedication to his country was matched by his commitment to his career. As the Director of Maintenance for the Town of Mansfield, Connecticut, Peter was instrumental in maintaining the municipal buildings and schools, a role he performed with diligence and pride until his retirement. Peter's life was a testament to his love for his family and his faith in Christ. His humor and his ability to direct and guide those around him earned him the affectionate title of "Director" or "Chief" among his friends and family. He was a man who relished being part of the solutions in life, not only for himself but for everyone he held dear. Peter's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice care team at Amedysis Palm Bay for their compassionate care during his final days. A special thank you is also extended to Sharon and Debbie for their unwavering care and commitment to Peter in his last year, a devotion that will be remembered always. A service to honor Peter's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 328 Village Hill Rd, Lebanon, CT 06249.
