With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Peter Anthony Cortez, who left us too soon on March 18, 2026, in Duncanville, TX. Born on January 28, 1988, in Dallas, TX, Peter lived a life full of laughter, wild adventures, and an unshakable happy-go-lucky spirit that brightened every room he entered. Peter was a proud graduate of Duncanville High School and furthered his education at ITT Tech, laying the foundation for a career as an Inventory Clerk with Kehe. Yet, beyond professional achievements, Peter’s true legacy was the joy and inspiration he brought to those around him. Known for his crazy and wild nature paired with a remarkable sense of humor, he had an extraordinary gift for making people smile even on the darkest days. A true Star Wars fan, Peter found joy not only in galaxies far, far away but also right here on earth—especially in game rooms and lively evenings spent hanging out at the bar with his beloved sisters. These simple pleasures were a reflection of his genuine love for life and close-knit family bonds. His presence was a constant source of warmth and laughter to those who knew him. Peter is deeply mourned by his father, Pedro Cortez; his sister, Valerie Cortez; his grandmother, Hope Rivero; and his niece and nephew, Elena and Pedro Cortez. His circle of friends, including Tina Miles, Hope Rivero, Olivia Bank, Head, Ariella, and Terry Swayze, also feel his loss profoundly. They, along with all who had the honor of knowing Peter, will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Villagomez, whose spirit lives on within Peter’s enduring love and vibrant character. The impact Peter made was profound—he touched so many lives with his spirit and inspiration, leaving an indelible mark that will not be forgotten. His is a legacy built on laughter, boundless enthusiasm, and heartfelt connections. A viewing will be held on March 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. The funeral service will follow on March 25, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas (Allene). As we gather to honor Peter’s life, we remember not just a man who worked diligently and pursued his interests passionately, but a soul whose laughter and love created a legacy of inspiration that will carry on in the hearts of all who loved him. Goodbye, Peter. May your wild spirit soar free, and may the stars you adored light your path forevermore.
