Persephone Gwen Justus

October 7, 2013 — May 3, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Persephone Gwen Justus. Born on October 7, 2013, in the picturesque city of Washington, Persephone departed this world on May 3, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She left us quickly at home, embraced by the warmth of her family’s love. Persephone was the precious daughter of David and Jennifer Justus, who were blessed to share in her life filled with joy, curiosity, and wonder. From the very beginning, Persephone showed an incredible zest for life. Her bright eyes and beautiful spirit were a beacon of light to all who knew her. While her time with us was far too short, her impact was immeasurable. In her brief years, Persephone was a student of life, with an insatiable appetite for learning and discovery. She was not only bright and beautiful but also extraordinarily smart, always eager to explore the world around her. Her love for stories and adventures through books transformed her into a Disney princess in her own right, where each tale was a new journey, and every character a friend. Persephone’s witty personality was one of her many endearing qualities. She had a quick sense of humor that could light up a room and lift anyone’s spirits. Her legendary eyerolls, which could easily win an Olympic medal, were as much a part of her charm as her infectious laughter. Above all, Persephone had a gift for giving the kind of hugs that could cure even the worst of days, providing comfort and warmth to anyone in need. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff and family members who provided unwavering care and love throughout Persephone’s life. Your kindness and support have meant the world to us, and we are eternally thankful for the compassion you have shown. In celebrating Persephone’s life, we honor a little girl who taught us the true meaning of joy, love, and resilience. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find solace in the memories of her infectious laughter, her unyielding spirit, and the profound love she shared with everyone. Persephone’s light will forever shine in our hearts, guiding us with her strength and grace. A private family service will be held to honor Persephone’s memory and celebrate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a children’s charity of your choice, in Persephone’s name, to help bring joy and adventure to other young hearts. Rest in peace, dear Persephone. You will forever be missed, but never forgotten. Your spirit will live on in the stories you loved, the adventures you embraced, and the hearts of those who were privileged to know you.
