Peggy Lynn Riley

Peggy Lynn Riley, a beloved member of our community, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, surrounded by cherished friends in the comfort of her home. Born on July 1, 1950, in Marietta, Georgia, to Lynn and Virginia Hornsby, Peggy's life was a testament to resilience, love, and generosity. Peggy's journey began in Marietta, where she graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1968. Her career was marked by dedication and versatility, notably serving as an X-ray technician at Kennestone Hospital, the very place of her birth. Her colleagues and patients remember her for her professionalism and unwavering kindness. Peggy's life was enriched by her marriage to Donald Riley, with whom she shared the joys and challenges of parenthood, raising their son Rodney Riley. Despite the adversities she faced, including the loss of her parents, brother James, husband Donald, and son Rodney, Peggy's spirit remained unbroken. She found solace and strength in the love of her surviving brother, Terry Hornsby, and the community around her. In her later years, Peggy discovered a spiritual home at Cascade Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, where she formed lasting bonds and contributed to the church community. Her faith and fellowship provided comfort and purpose, as she became a cherished member of the congregation. Peggy's creative spirit found expression in music, crafts, decorating, and event planning, which she delighted in sharing with friends and family. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives, and her legacy of compassion and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew her. A service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Cascade Presbyterian Church, located at 9503 NE 86th St, Vancouver, WA. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Peggy's devoted caregivers, hospice staff, and the supportive community of her church.
