January 1, 1942 — October 10, 2026

In Loving Memory of Peggy Lou York Weymouth who went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 10, 2026. Peggy was born on January 1, 1942, in Skowhegan, Maine, to Dwight and Kathleen (Wilcox) York. From an early age, Peggy's warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, leaving a legacy of love and compassion. Peggy's journey began in Clinton, Maine, where she attended school. She excelled both academically and athletically, participating in basketball, softball, and the drama club. Her dedication and talent led her to graduate as valedictorian, after which she pursued higher education at Barrington College in Rhode Island, earning a teaching degree. In a love story for the ages, Peggy married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Weymouth, on July 25, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful sons, Joel and Dennis. Peggy's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she dedicated her career to educating and inspiring young minds. She returned to her beloved Clinton and taught throughout the state before finding her long-term home at Clinton Christian School, where she remained until her retirement. Peggy's faith was an integral part of her life. A devout Christian, she was a lifelong member of the Clinton Baptist Church. She shared her musical talents with the congregation, singing solos and duets with her father, Dwight, and serving on the music committee. Her dedication to the church community was evident in her involvement in the children's vacation Bible school, where she brought joy and wisdom to many young lives with the Sunday School Charlie Stories. Beyond her professional and spiritual pursuits, Peggy was an avid seamstress who found joy in creating beautiful pieces through crochet and knitting. Her talent was recognized at local fairs, where she often brought home blue ribbons. She cherished her time with her sewing circle friends and delighted in knitting slippers for those she loved. Peggy's culinary skills were equally celebrated, with her baked goods becoming a beloved staple of family gatherings and holiday celebrations. Peggy's love of classic cars was shared with her husband, Tim. Together, they could often be seen driving their cherished 1961 Chevy Impala convertible to local Dairy Queens or participating in Lions Club parades. Peggy is predeceased by her parents, Dwight and Kathleen York; in-laws, Lindell and Jerry Weymouth; brother-in-law, Stephen Weymouth; and lifelong friend, Mary Welsh.
