Miller, who left us peacefully at her home, surrounded by her beloved family and friends, on May 23, 2026. Peggy's remarkable journey began on September 3, 1940, in Dothan, Alabama, where she was born to Lawrence and Lucinda Miller. Peggy was a woman of grace, warmth, and boundless love. She was united in marriage with her soulmate, LeRoy Miller, on October 29, 1957, in Dothan, Alabama. Together, they embarked on a shared adventure in life and business, first operating the sale barn in Eufaula, Alabama, and a cherished restaurant. In 1960, they made Headland, Alabama, their home, where they opened a resort, restaurant, and bar, becoming pillars of their community. A proud graduate of Dothan High School in 1958, Peggy furthered her education at Troy University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1962. Her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others led her to a fulfilling career in nursing, where she touched many lives with her gentle care and unwavering empathy. Peggy’s joy in life was her family, whom she adored endlessly. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kim Miller Turner, and her precious granddaughter, Alexis Rae Miller. Despite these heartbreaking losses, Peggy's spirit shone brightly through her four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her home was always open, her kitchen always bustling, and her heart always full, as she delighted in making goodies and sharing love with her family and friends. Peggy had a joyful passion for collecting bears, moose, and angels, each item a testament to the whimsy and warmth that defined her. Her collections were a reflection of her nurturing spirit and the angelic grace with which she moved through life. A private funeral service to honor Peggy’s life will be held on June 3, 2026, at 1:30 PM. In this intimate gathering, close family and friends will celebrate the indelible mark she left on their hearts. As we bid farewell to Peggy, we hold her memory close, knowing that her influence will continue to guide and inspire us.
