In Loving Memory

Peggy Holder
July 2, 1945 — October 24, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Peggy Holder, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on October 24, 2026, at Preston Place in Sherman, Texas. Peggy was born on July 2, 1945, in the welcoming embrace of Calhoun County, Alabama, to her loving parents, Grady and Myrtle Allsup.
Peggy's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. Her journey began in Hokes Bluff, where she graduated from Hokes Bluff High School and proudly served as a cheerleader, embodying the spirited enthusiasm that she carried throughout her life.
Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dewey Holder, her parents, Grady and Myrtle Allsup, and her sister, Sandra Sanford. Their memories were forever cherished in her heart, and she found solace in knowing they were reunited in peace.
Her legacy continues through her surviving family, who were the center of her world. Peggy is survived by her beloved son, Jeff Rowland, and his wife, Winifred Rowland, of Kennesaw, Georgia; her son, Michael Rowland, and his wife, Tracey; and her devoted daughter, Cheri Nelson, along with her cherished son-in-law, Andrew Nelson of Van Alstyne, Texas. Peggy was a proud grandmother to granddaughters Jennifer Stover (Preston) and Julie Webb (Jesse), and grandsons Drake Rowland (Madelyn), Connor Rowland, and Evan Rowland. Her great-grandchildren, Paisley and Emma Stover, and Aaron Webb, brought immense joy to her days.
Peggy's life was enriched by her move to Texas to be closer to her daughter and a broader group of physicians who could attend to her needs. She found immense comfort in the community at Preston Place and was deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by Heart to Heart Hospice and the many wonderful people who supported her.
While Peggy's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, her family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have been part of Peggy's journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Peggy's honor to be made to Cure JM.
Peggy Holder's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her vibrant spirit, unwavering love, and gentle kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, inspiring them to live with the same grace and warmth that she embodied every day.
