Peggy passed away surrounded by loved ones at NHC in Murfreesboro, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Born on March 27, 1933, in the warm embrace of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Peggy was the beloved daughter of the late William Lois and Mattie Lou Gumm. She found her lifelong partner and true love in Clarence Lowe, whom she married on February 16, 1953. Together, they shared a beautiful journey of companionship and love until Clarence's passing, a union that was admired by all who knew them.
Peggy was predeceased by her devoted husband, Clarence, and her beloved parents, William and Mattie. Despite these profound losses, she carried forward with grace, embodying resilience and strength that inspired everyone around her.
She is survived by her loving sister, Martha Rolman, who has been a constant source of support and companionship. Peggy’s legacy lives on through her cherished sons, Barry (Carol) Lowe and Mark (Donna) Lowe, who were the pride of her life. She adored her grandchildren Brian (Sloan), Austin (Erin), and Lindsey (Taylor) Sutherland, delighting in their joys and accomplishments. Her heart was further filled with love for her seven great-grandchildren: Weston, Parker, Ivy, Skyler, Walker, Millie, and Lainey, each of whom brought her immense joy and happiness.
Peggy's educational journey began at the Murray/Kittrell school, where she shone brightly both in academics and on the basketball court. Her passion for learning and sportsmanship left a lasting impression and spoke volumes about her character.
A loving wife, nurturing mother, and devoted friend, Peggy was renowned for her warmth and kindness. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where she welcomed friends and family with open arms and an open heart. She was particularly passionate about her family farm, which recently earned the distinguished recognition of Century Farm status—a testament to her family's enduring legacy and connection to the land.
Peggy's life was a testament to love, perseverance, and commitment to family. Her spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that Peggy has been reunited with her beloved Clarence, and they now rest together in peace.
A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable woman she was.
