Peggie Tanner

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Peggie Tanner, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on September 12, 2026. Peggie, a lifelong resident of Georgia, was born on September 30, 1952, in Atlanta to her beloved parents Claude and Druscilla Craig. Peggie lived a full and vibrant life, marked most notably by her deep devotion to her family. She was predeceased by her husband, William Tanner, her daughter, Regina Tanner, and her brothers Gene, Raymond, and Carol Craig, as well as her sisters Delia Lance, Carolyn Craig, and Strawberry Craig. Nephew Bill. Nieces Nida, Angie and Nicky. Despite these losses, Peggie remained a resilient and loving presence for her surviving family members. Peggie leaves behind her sons, Robert Tanner and Ronald Tanner, along with her devoted daughters-in-law, Jackie Tanner and Julie Tanner. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Zachary Tanner, Crystal Ellegert, Timothy Tanner, Kevin Tanner, Bryan Ellegert, Jaycee Tanner and her great-grandchildren Olivia, Dane, and Miley Tanner, as well as Abigail, Stella, Sky, Liam, and Autumn Ellegert. Nephews Chris, Doug, Dale, Charles, Timmy, Michael and TJ. Nieces Roeshell, Renee, DeeDee, Amber, Heather and Mandy. Peggie's family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Known for her sharp wit and candid nature, Peggie had a unique ability to express her thoughts honestly and openly, endearing her to all who knew her. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she was a constant source of support and wisdom throughout their lives. A grave side service to celebrate Peggie's life will be held on September 21, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, located at 5755 Mallory Rd., Union City, GA 30349. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember the remarkable woman Peggie was, and the indelible mark she left on their lives. Prayers will be provided by Charles Bellew. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Pine Knolls Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, GA, who provided Peggie with compassion and companionship in the final years of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making a donation in Peggie's memory to a charity of your choice, as a way of celebrating her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.
