Pedro Tejeda

January 6, 1951 — July 25, 2026

Pedro "Pete" Tejeda, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 6, 1951, in the picturesque town of Carpinteria, CA, Pete was the cherished son of Felipe and Guadalupe Tejeda, who preceded him in death. Pete's life was marked by dedication and service, both to his family and his country. A proud alumnus of Carpinteria High School, he furthered his education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. This education laid the foundation for a successful career that was characterized by integrity and excellence. In the spirit of service, Pete answered the call of duty and served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his fellow service members and his nation was a testament to his character and strength. For 37 wonderful years, Pete was a devoted husband to Diane Tejeda, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including his children Nathan (Shasta) Tejeda, Darby (Brandi) Tejeda, and stepson Ronnie Jones, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and resilience. Pete was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren—Mya, Conner, Koli, and Angelina—and a great-grandfather to Aleia. His gentle guidance and unconditional love have left an indelible mark on their hearts. He is also survived by his brothers, Fernando (Lorry), Albert (Deborah), and Jorge (Ann-Margaret), whose bonds remained strong throughout the years. His family was his pride and joy, and his love for them was boundless. A private ceremony will be held to honor Pete’s life and legacy, as per the family’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Pete's memory, allowing his spirit of generosity and care to continue to touch lives. Pete Tejeda’s life was a testament to the power of love, service, and dedication. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
