Payten Marie Stixrud

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Payten Marie Stixrud, a cherished daughter, devoted wife, and loving mother, who left us far too soon on January 10, 2026, at the age of 28. Payten was born on October 15, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, and later moved to Puyallup, Washington, in 2012, where she made a home filled with love and laughter. Payten was the beloved daughter of Lynette Minson and Matt Lancastrain. She shared a close bond with her stepfather, Jason Minson, and stepmother, Theresa Lancastrain. She was the cherished wife of her high school sweetheart, Michael Ray Stixrud, whom she married on March 8, 2017, after beginning their journey together on December 14, 2013. Payten was a devoted and loving mother to her precious daughter, Xenia Anita Stixrud. A compassionate and dedicated registered nurse, Payten served in the Emergency Department at Tacoma General Hospital for three years, a place where her passion for helping others shined brightly. Nursing was not merely a career for Payten; it was her life's calling, a path she was proud to walk, following in the footsteps of her mother, who also served at the same hospital. Payten's radiant smile was a beacon of hope for those in their darkest moments, and her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Family meant everything to Payten. She treasured the moments spent with her husband and daughter, whether they were enjoying exhilarating motorcycle rides, snowboarding adventures, or peaceful summer days jet skiing. Every Father's Day, the family would gather for a cherished camping trip to Alta Lake, creating memories that will forever be held close. Payten's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Washington State Patrol troopers and the Central Pierce Fire Department for their efforts and compassion during her final moments. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Xenia; her mother, Lynette Minson; her father, Matt Lancastrain; her stepfather, Jason Minson; her stepmother, Theresa Lancastrain; her father-in-law, Tom Holt; and many others who loved her dearly. She is predeceased by her grandmother, Joiy, whose memory she held close to her heart. A celebration of Payten's life will be held on January 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Sumner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Payten's memory. As we gather to honor Payten's life, we remember her for the love and joy she brought into the world. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
