February 25, 1937 — October 8, 2026

Pauline F. Nelson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 8, 2026. Born on February 25, 1937, in the quaint town of Pierre, South Dakota, Pauline led a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication. Raised by her devoted parents, Maxine and Arthur King, Pauline grew to be a woman of strength and grace. She completed her education at Butte High School and Emerson Elementary in Butte, Montana. It was here that she began to form the foundation of a life characterized by warmth and compassion. In 1954, Pauline married the love of her life, Raymond Nelson, on September 25th. Together, they built a family filled with love and joy. Pauline is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond; her cherished children, Rayleen Murphy (Russ), Charlene McKenzie (Don), and Roy (Dori) Nelson; as well as six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. Pauline found fulfillment in her career as a bookkeeper for several businesses, including the family-owned Nelson-McCloskey Construction. Her meticulous nature and attention to detail ensured the success of every endeavor she undertook. An artist at heart, Pauline spent her earlier years enjoying the women's golf league, painting, and working with clay. These hobbies provided her with a creative outlet and were a testament to her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Pauline was the rock of her family, a role she cherished deeply. Her home was a place of refuge and warmth, where no one ever left without a full stomach and a heart brimming with love. Her legacy of kindness and nurturing will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to know her. A private funeral ceremony will be held in her honor, reflecting the intimate and cherished memories shared by her family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Pauline's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to her heart. Through this gesture, Pauline's legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to touch lives. Pauline F. Nelson's spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her beautiful life will be celebrated for years to come. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
