Paulette McCutchen
October 16, 1946 — June 25, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Paulette McCutchen, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who gracefully departed this world on June 25, 2026, at the age of 79. Paulette was born on October 16, 1946, in the charming town of Scottsboro, Alabama, where her journey began as the cherished daughter of Andy McCutchen and Louise Sears.
Paulette's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. She faced her final days with the same courage and grace that she exhibited throughout a life well-lived, ultimately succumbing peacefully after a brave battle with dementia.
Paulette was preceded in death by her loving parents, Andy McCutchen and Louise Sears, and her dear sisters, Janie Drake and Terry Jo Blake. Though she is no longer with us, their spirits surely greeted her with open arms in the afterlife, where they are now joyfully reunited.
She is survived by her devoted son, Greg Scales, who was the light of her life and the source of her deepest pride. Paulette's legacy further lives on through her two cherished grandchildren, who were her greatest joy and in whom her spirit will forever reside.
Paulette's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family. A woman of gentle grace, she touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her laughter was a soothing balm to many. She will be remembered not just for the warmth she brought into every room she entered, but also for her unwavering support and nurturing spirit that embraced all who crossed her path.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Fayetteville, whose extraordinary love, support, and compassionate care provided immeasurable comfort to Paulette in her final days.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Paulette's remarkable life will be held on June 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Nelms Memorial, located at 2501 Carmichael Ave NW, Huntsville, AL 35816. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are encouraged to attend and share in the remembrance of a life beautifully lived.
While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the indelible mark she left on this world. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire and guide us. Paulette McCutchen will forever be missed, but her spirit will remain with us, a beacon of light and love that transcends time.
