It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Paulette Cordell Johnston Roundtree, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. She was born on May 27, 1962, in Corsicana, Texas, and lived a life marked by faith, love, compassion, and devotion to all who were blessed to know her. Her presence was a gift to many, and her memory will be cherished always. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda Jean Johnston, Milton Earl Cordell, and stepfather Sidney Wayne Johnston. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandparents: Milton and Ollin Johnston, Dock Allen and Ruth Paul, and Milton Frank and Dora Elma Cordell, whose love and guidance helped shape the woman she became. Paulette was a devoted and loving wife who shared nearly 30 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Larry Dean Roundtree. They were united in marriage on April 8, 1996, in Malakoff, Texas, and together built a home centered on love, laughter, faith, and family. Left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, Larry Dean Roundtree, siblings, Jana Hendricks and Sidney Johnston son Kyle Harris and wife Jessica, daughter Amanda Price and husband Chris, son Jason Roundtree, daughter Dawn (Chris) Little, daughter Belinda (Robert) Bradshaw, daughter Lorie Roundtree, son Larry Roundtree, Jr. and son Rowdy Scott. Her legacy continues to live on through her 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. Paulette was a proud graduate of Corsicana High School, Class of 1980. She deeply valued education and lifelong learning, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1983, a Master’s degree in Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2008, and a Master of Science degree in Computer and Information Science and Support Services from Tarleton State University in 2010. Her professional life reflected her servant’s heart and passion for helping others. Paulette dedicated many years to education, sharing her knowledge and love of technology with students at multiple places. She was more than a teacher she was an encourager, a mentor, and a source of strength to countless students whose lives she touched. Paulette also found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved traveling, especially to the beach, where she delighted in reading a good book while watching her children and grandchildren play in the sand and surf. She enjoyed shopping, treasured time spent with loved ones and was known for preparing delicious homemade meals and baked goods that brought family and friends together. As we remember Paulette, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and firmly rooted in faith. Her love, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to shine in the lives of all who knew her. Though she is deeply missed, her family rejoices in the blessed assurance that they will see her again. The celebration of life will be held at Hilltop Worship Center 920 East Royal, Blvd., Malakoff, Texas on Saturday May 9th, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
