Paula Webb
August 30, 1945 — April 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Paula Webb, who departed this life on April 24, 2026, at the age of 80. Paula passed away at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY, following a courageous battle with illness, surrounded by her devoted children and grandchildren.
Born on August 30, 1945, in Plattsburgh, NY, Paula was the cherished daughter of Paul and Merilda (Baker) Johnpeer. She graduated from Keeseville High School, where she laid the foundation for a lifetime filled with love, dedication, and joy.
Paula shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Jack Webb. They exchanged vows on December 10, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Keeseville, NY, embarking on a remarkable journey together. Jack preceded her in death, along with their son, Jack Webb Jr., her parents, and her brothers, Donald, Grant, Peter, and Douglas Johnpeer, as well as her niece, Trinity Johnpeer.
Paula's legacy lives on in her surviving family: her four children, Merilda Webb of Plattsburgh, NY, Jeanne and her husband Paul Gonyea, Robert Webb and his fiancée Rana Swistak of Peru, NY, and Candie Webb and her fiancé Dale McKee of Plattsburgh, NY. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Michaela (Roland) Drollette of Redford, NY, Caleb Webb and his fiancée Joelie Flynn, Shaelyn Webb of Plattsburgh, NY, Abigail Webb of Peru, NY, William Gonyea of Plattsburgh, NY, Scott and Katelyn Gowett, Alexandra Webb of Peru, NY, Amanda, and Tanya Roark of Plattsburgh, NY. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
Throughout her career, Paula worked at Fairfield Hills State Hospital in the Laundry Department and later at Carrols Restaurant in Plattsburgh, NY. She was a dedicated member of the Keeseville United Methodist Church and the Peru Rod & Gun Club. Her life was enriched by a myriad of hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, fishing, and playing bingo. She had a particular fondness for pull tabs and lottery scratch tickets, finding joy in simple pleasures.
Paula was known for her infectious humor and warmth, often responding to inquiries about her well-being with a cheeky, "With my fingers!" She was a constant presence at school functions, cheering on her children and grandchildren in sports, chorus, and class activities, always their biggest supporter.
A service to honor Paula's remarkable life will be held on April 29, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 20 Grove St, Keeseville, NY. In this final farewell, we extend our deepest gratitude to the ICU staff at UVM (CVPH) in Plattsburgh for their compassionate care and support, treating Paula with the dignity and respect she so deserved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charitable organization of your choice, an act of kindness Paula would have cherished. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
