It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paula Jackson, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab after a lengthy illness. Born on May 10, 1955, in Newport News, Virginia, Paula lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service to others. She was 71 years old.
Paula's life was marked by the warmth of her spirit and the brightness of her smile, qualities that left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Known for her quick wit and gentle humor, she had an uncanny ability to uplift those around her. Whether sharing a laugh or offering a kind word, Paula made everyone feel welcome and valued, touching countless lives with her generosity and kindness.
On June 15, 1975, Paula married the love of her life, Jane Jackson, in a beautiful ceremony in Virginia. Together, they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage, filled with joy, adventure, and the kind of enduring love that inspires those around them. As devoted partners, they raised four remarkable children who were the center of Paula's world.
Paula's commitment to her community was unwavering. For over 40 years, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where her faith and compassion were evident in everything she did. She dedicated her time and talents to the Rotary Club, proudly serving as president in 1995, and was a committed volunteer with the Salvation Army for 15 years. Her service to others extended to the American Legion, where she found camaraderie and purpose.
Beyond her community service, Paula's legacy is rooted in the love and laughter she shared with her family and friends. Her home was a place of warmth and hospitality, where everyone felt like family. Her laughter was infectious, her heart was open, and her capacity for love was limitless.
A service to celebrate Paula's life will be held on July 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 461 St. Clair Ave, Columbus, Ohio. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Paula's life are invited to join us as we honor and remember a truly remarkable woman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army or First Baptist Church in Paula's memory, continuing her legacy of giving and compassion.
Paula Jackson's presence in our lives was a gift, and while she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. We find comfort in the memories, laughter, and love she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
