In Loving Memory of Paula Boudreau
On April 6, 2026, the world lost a beacon of warmth and joy when Paula Boudreau, cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away after courageously battling health issues. Born on July 27, 1963, in Hartford, CT, Paula blessed our lives with her infectious laughter and indomitable spirit for 62 vibrant years.
Paula was the beloved daughter of Richard Shambo and Helen Chaplin, who predeceased her, along with her sisters, Patty Mchaffie, sister Valerie, and her brother, Rick Gowing. Despite the challenges she faced, Paula's life was enriched by a loving family and a network of friends who meant the world to her.
She is survived by her loving sons, Mike and Greg LaMoy, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and determination. Paula's heart was filled with joy by her two precious grandchildren, who for whom she deeply cared and loved. She also leaves behind her sister, Kathy Tucker, and her brother, Robby Shambo, along with his beloved wife, Cindy—fondly known to Paula as her "sissy." Her cherished friends, Ricky and Carolyn Pilbin, CJ Santor, Tanya Selivonik, and countless others, remember her as a steadfast companion and a source of endless laughter.
Paula's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her work, and her community. A woman of strength and determination, she earned her GED and became a certified day care provider, a role that allowed her to touch the lives of many children, nurturing them with love and care as they grew into young adults. Her career also included time at Peerless Clothing Inc. and The Barry Callebaut chocolate factory, where her work ethic and spirit were equally admired.
In her personal life, Paula was known for her vivacious love of life. She relished time spent with family and friends, finding joy in simple pleasures, having BBQs, cooking, and shopping. Her infectious laugh could light up the darkest of rooms, and she had a remarkable ability to make those around her smile. Paula had a special fondness for holidays, with Christmas being her favorite time of year, a season that mirrored her generous spirit and love for creating joyful memories.
Paula's journey through life was shared in a new chapter of love with her fiancé, Paul Patterson, whose companionship brought her happiness and comfort.
Though she is no longer with us, Paula's memory will forever be cherished by those who loved her. Her family invites all who knew her to a celebration of her life at Cohen Park this summer, a tribute close to her birthday, where stories, laughter, and love will honor the remarkable woman she was.
