In Loving Memory of Paul Rivera 3rd
Paul Rivera 3rd, a beloved husband, uncle, and friend, was called home on March 11, 2023, at the age of 54. Born on September 4, 1968, in Tulane, California, Paul lived a life marked by unwavering faith, enduring love, and a deep commitment to family.
Paul was the cherished son of Paul Rivera Jr. and Erma Chavez Avila, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharron Rivera, who was his constant companion and partner in life since May 8, 1986. Their unbreakable bond, spanning nearly four decades, was a testament to their enduring love and dedication to one another. Together, they raised many Godchildren, nurturing them with the same love and care as their own.
Paul's heart was expansive, and his family extended beyond blood relations. He loved and cherished his nieces and nephews as his own children, and his affection for them was boundless. Angela Madrid, Jessica Avila, and Arlenda Avila Chavez, among many others, held a special place in his heart. Paul's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them and the many family members he cherished so deeply.
Educated at Dinuba High School and later through continuation schooling, Paul pursued a career that saw him contribute to various fields. He worked at Harris Ranch and Mission Tortillas before retiring from Alhambra Water. His dedication and work ethic were evident in all his endeavors.
A man of deep faith, Paul's greatest passion was his relationship with Yahweh. An avid reader, he immersed himself in religious texts from various traditions, always eager to share the stories of Jesus with his family. His excitement to one day meet Jesus was a source of great comfort to him and those around him.
Paul's love for Star Wars was well-known, and he eagerly awaited each new installment in the saga. Yet, it was his spiritual journey that truly defined him. His profound knowledge and peaceful demeanor were a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew him. Despite facing numerous health challenges from a young age, Paul never questioned his fate. His courage and resilience shone brightly, even in the darkest of times.
To those who loved him, Paul was a superhero. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering faith were a testament to the extraordinary person he was. As Sharron expressed, he never faltered in his trust in God, even as he faced personal trials.
Paul wished for his family to remain united, to love one another, and to continue their conversations with God. His life was a beacon of hope and faith, and his legacy will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Paul Rivera 3rd will be missed beyond measure, but his spirit will live on in the memories and love he left behind.
May he rest in peace and find joy in his long-anticipated meeting with Jesus.
