Paul R Delgado
November 7, 1944 — June 21, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Paul R. Delgado, who departed this world peacefully on June 21, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on November 7, 1944, in the sunny town of San Bernardino, California, Paul was the beloved son of Marie Herrera and Paul Delgado, both of whom preceded him in death.
Paul's journey through life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication. He shared an extraordinary bond with his loving wife, Patty Delgado, whom he married on April 3, 1976. Together, they celebrated 50 beautiful years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
Paul was a proud graduate of Redlands High School, class of 1962. His sense of duty and adventure led him to serve in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that filled him with pride and honor. He furthered his education at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, earning an Associate of Arts degree, and found his professional calling with the United States Postal Service, where he dedicated 35 years of service.
Paul was a man of many talents and interests. His green thumb was evident in the gardens he lovingly tended every day, a sanctuary where he found peace and joy. He had a passion for watching birds build their nests, capturing life's moments through photography, and cherishing time spent with family at gatherings, where his laughter and stories were always a highlight. A skilled tennis player, Paul enjoyed the sport throughout his college years and beyond.
He was a man of warmth and humor, delighting in sharing stories that brought smiles and laughter to those around him. His jokes, especially with the younger ones, were a cherished part of family gatherings. And, of course, Paul's enchiladas were legendary, a dish that brought family and friends together time and again.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patty; his son, Rene Paul Delgado; and his grandson, Orlando, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Pat Konnoff; and his nieces, Tiffany Conaway and Francoises Castro, who all held a special place in his heart.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held on June 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, located at 2800 E Ramon Rd, Palm Springs, CA. Family and friends are invited to honor and remember a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
While we mourn Paul's passing, we also celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Paul, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
