Paul Palumbo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Palumbo, who peacefully departed this world at his home in the warm company of his beloved daughter, Amy, and his long-term partner, Michelle, on August 11, 2026. Born on May 28, 1958, in Herkimer County, New York, Paul was the cherished son of Joseph J. Palumbo and Amelia M. (Gavac) Palumbo. He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister, and his grandparents. Paul's journey through life was marked by a brilliant mind and a generous heart. He completed his education at Saguaro High School before earning a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Arizona State University. Although he embarked on his career in engineering, working with notable companies such as Goodyear, Hughes, and Intel, his true passion lay in caring for others. This passion led him to establish Lincoln Drive Home Care, a direct care company he created to provide dedicated care for his brother, Joe. Paul was a proud Sun Devil alumnus, who lived his life with zest and enthusiasm. He found deep joy in spending time with his family, traveling with Amy to snorkel in the Caribbean and Florida, and skiing in the majestic mountains of Northern Arizona and Colorado. His travels with Michelle took him across the United States, where they shared a love for golf and sports, aiming to fulfill Paul's dream of golfing in all 50 states. While Vermont remained an elusive destination, Alex, Michelle's son, has lovingly agreed to complete this journey in Paul's honor. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Paul and Amy made it a tradition to attend games together, often participating in fantasy football leagues. His analytical mind shone through in his creation of NFL betting lines every Friday, as he meticulously calculated every aspect of the game. Las Vegas was a favorite destination for Paul and Michelle, where he would occasionally indulge in a friendly wager. Paul's love for sports extended beyond football; he and Michelle attended numerous college and professional games across the country, from ASU football and basketball matches to the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament and Red Sox games. Despite his quiet nature, Paul was known for his quick wit and warm smile, offering jokes and laughter to those he cherished most. His generosity knew no bounds, as he showed his love for family and friends through countless sacrifices, great and small. Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his brother, Joseph, his dear daughter, Amy Palumbo, his partner, Michelle Wood, and her son, Alex Juarez, along with Alex's partner, Ana Traslavina. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers, Jenny, Libby, and Gala, as well as his nurse, Lauren from Hospice of the Valley, and the staff at the Gregory Fulton ALS Clinic at Barrow Neurological Institute for their compassionate care and unwavering support. A service to celebrate Paul's life will be held on September 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Maria Goretti, 6261 N Granite Reef Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85250. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALS Arizona or Hospice of the Valley in memory of Paul Palumbo. His family will forever remember him as a quiet hero, whose love and sacrifice touched the hearts of all who knew him.
