In Loving Memory

Paul Michael Kothrade
March 10, 1955 — October 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Michael Kothrade, who left this world at home on October 27, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on March 10, 1955, in Buffalo, Minnesota, Paul was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Paul was the son of Marlys Kothrade and the late Edwin Kothrade. He was predeceased by his father, Edwin, but leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family members. His devoted wife, Ginger Kothrade, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage, was his steadfast partner and companion. Together, they built a life full of love and joy, celebrating their union on September 19, 2009, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, MN. It was a marriage defined by deep faith and mutual respect, a testament to the love they believed was divinely orchestrated.
Paul has two sons, Jacob (Kristina) Kothrade and Benjamin (Maggie) Kothrade, and a grandfather to two grandchildren. His siblings, Loren & Heidi Kothrade, Joy & Dick Rau, John & Jane Kothrade, and Glen & Pam Kothrade, will forever remember him as a pillar of strength and laughter, whose quick wit and warm smile made every gathering memorable.
A man of many talents, Paul dedicated much of his career to construction, a field where his passion for helping others shone brightly. He often remarked that his skills were a gift from God, intended to serve those in need. This selfless nature extended beyond his professional life, as he was known for his generosity and genuine kindness to all.
Paul's love for the great outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for pheasant hunting, fishing, and, in recent years, ATV adventures with Ginger and their friends. His musical talents were a gift to those around him, as he played the guitar and sang with a voice that could lift spirits and bring joy to any room.
Paul's life will be celebrated at a service on November 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. for the visitation and 11am for service at the Church of the Open Door, located at 9060 Zanzibar Lane N, Maple Grove, MN 55311.
As we reflect on Paul's life, we remember a man whose laughter and love left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone he encountered. His legacy will endure through his family, friends, and all those who were blessed to know him. He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered.
