Born on September 15, 1941, in Washington, DC, Paul was the beloved son of Charles W. and Marguerite L. Carter. Paul’s early years were enriched by the vibrant culture of Washington, DC, where he grew up alongside his siblings, Charles, Jean, and Phillip, who have since passed on before him. His foundational education culminated in his graduation from Dunbar High School, an institution that played a significant role in shaping his character and values, For over three decades. Paul dedicated his professional life to the United States Postal Service. His work there was more than just a career; it was a testament to his steadfast work ethic and his desire to serve his community with diligence and respect. Beyond his professional endeavors, Paul was a man of diverse interests and passions. He found joy and camaraderie in the lanes of a bowling alley, the diamond of a softball field, and the soulful rhythms of jazz music. These hobbies not only brought him personal joy but also connected him with a wide circle of friends and fellow enthusiasts. Paul's personal life was graced by his loving marriage to Betty Nelson, his devoted wife. Together, they built a life filled with love, shared values, and mutual support. To this union two children were born, Charisse Carter and Anthony Carter, 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Paul McAlfred Carter's leaves to cherish and celebrate his memories, Rev Betty Carter (Wife) Charisse & Anthony (Children) Sister Anne, and Sister-in-law Dorothy. And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and an enduring love for those he leaves behind.
