Paul Matthew Lee

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Matthew Lee on April 2, 2026. Surrounded by his beloved family at his home in Marion, North Carolina, Paul entered into eternal rest at the age of 67. Born on June 15, 1958, in Marion, NC, Paul was the treasured son of the late Bruce and Sue Lee. He was a vibrant soul whose life was a testament to love, strength, and dedication. Preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ruppe, and brother Donald Lee, Paul is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Paul's legacy lives on through his devoted wife Martha, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. He was the proud father of three children: Jerry Lee of Marion, NC, Author Lee of Ellenboro, NC, and Shawna Lee (married to Greg) of Rutherfordton, NC. His family was his pride and joy, and he delighted in being a guiding light to them all. A dedicated grandfather, Paul leaves behind three adoring grandchildren: Bethany Ward of Rutherfordton, Skyler Johnson of Shelby, and Jacob Lee (married to Meredith) of Charlotte. He also cherished his role as a great-grandfather to seven wonderful great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and fulfillment. Paul was a man of many talents and interests, with a heart as expansive as his spirit. He was known for his warm smile, gentle nature, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. While the family has chosen to honor Paul's life with a private funeral ceremony, they invite friends and loved ones to remember him in their own special ways. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Paul’s memory are encouraged to extend a hand to someone in need, as Paul often did, or to spend time with family and loved ones, cherishing the moments that truly matter. As we bid farewell to Paul Matthew Lee, we remember a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
