Born on June 15, 1958, in the serene town of Marion, North Carolina, Paul lived a life that was as warm and welcoming as the gentle Southern breeze of his birthplace.
Paul was the beloved son of Jerry and Martha Lee, who instilled in him values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. He was predeceased by his devoted parents, his sister Mary Ruppe, and his brother Donald Lee, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the hereafter.
A life partner for more than half a century, Paul leaves behind his cherished wife, Martha, with whom he shared 53 years of unwavering love and companionship. Together, they crafted a home filled with laughter, joy, and an enduring legacy of family. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Jerry Lee of Marion, North Carolina; Author Lee of Ellenboro, North Carolina; and Shawna Lee and her husband Greg of Rutherfordton. His children were his pride and joy, each embodying his gentle spirit and steadfast dedication to family.
Paul's legacy is further carried on by his three treasured grandchildren, Bethany Ward of Rutherfordton, Skyler Johnson of Shelby, North Carolina, and Jacob Lee and his wife Meredith of Charlotte. These precious grandchildren were the apple of his eye, each bringing him immense joy and pride. Moreover, his heart was filled with delight as he became a great-grandfather to seven bright and beautiful great-grandchildren, who were a source of boundless love and admiration to him.
Throughout his life, Paul was known for his gentle and compassionate soul. His laughter was infectious, and his smile could light up the darkest of rooms. He was a man of many talents, always ready with a helping hand or a wise word. His generosity knew no bounds, and his community benefitted greatly from his selfless acts of kindness and unwavering support.
Paul's departure leaves a void that will be felt deeply by his family and friends, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His life was a testament to love, family, and resilience, and his memory will be cherished forever.
In accordance with Paul’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his remarkable life and bid him a gentle farewell. The family asks for privacy during this tender time, as they gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
