Paul Joseph Blanchette

Paul Joseph Blanchette or known to many by simply Beagle, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2026, with his devoted wife of 53 years, Claudette, by his side. Born on February 18, 1953, in Laconia, NH, Paul was a cherished son of the late Roland and Leatrice (Derosia) Blanchette and brother to the late Gene Blanchette. Paul's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and adventure. He and Claudette DeRoy, high school sweethearts, were married on September 8, 1973, in Laconia, NH. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Audra and Michael, and built a life filled with shared passions and cherished memories over their 59 loving years together. After graduating from Belmont High School in 1972, Paul embarked on a career that showcased his reliability and strong work ethic. He started as a truck driver in 1975, transporting produce to the Big Banana in Gilford. In 1980, Paul joined Keith Construction, which later became Pike Industries, where he drove dump trucks for over 30 years. He concluded his career with Weaver Brothers, maintaining his reputation as a dependable and dedicated employee. Paul had a zest for life and a wide array of interests. An avid bowler, he participated in many "big ball" tournaments across the country, with Reno, NV, being a favorite destination for both bowling and the delightful day trips to Lake Tahoe. Paul and Claudette shared a love for beagles, raising many and actively participating in the Salmon Falls Beagle Club. It was there that Paul earned the affectionate nickname "Beagle." In addition to his passion for bowling and beagles, Paul enjoyed hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and fishing. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly when surrounded by his family. Known for his quiet yet profound love, Paul was a man of few words but left a lasting impression with his wit and humor, often quoting, "It was in the script!" and delighting in his John Wayne movies. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Claudette, his daughter Audra and her husband Jeff Carson of Alexandria, and his son Michael Blanchette and his wife Kristy of Belmont, NH. He leaves behind his sister-in-law Valerie Blanchette of Landaff, NH, his nephew Jake Blanchette of Landaff, and two beloved grandchildren, Andre Blanchette of Laconia and Elizabeth Blanchette of Belmont. In honor of Paul's life and legacy, the family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Lakes Region Visiting Nurses Association, especially Abby, Casey, and Lady T, for their compassionate care and kindness. In memory of Paul, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or the Salmon Falls Beagle Club, an organization that was close to his heart. Paul's warmth, humor, and love for his family and passions have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
