Paul Harvey
January 7, 1958 — June 2, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for his life that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Harvey on June 2, 2026, at the age of 68. Paul left this world as he lived in it, surrounded by the warmth and love of his cherished family in his Buffalo, NY home.
Born on January 7, 1958, in Buffalo, Paul was the beloved son of Lois Mortellaro. Paul's life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to justice. From a young age, he exhibited a passion for understanding the world around him and a fervent determination to make it a better place.
Paul's legacy is beautifully woven into the lives of his children, Brian, Andrea (Torre), and Melissa, who remember him not only as a dedicated father but as a mentor and a source of unwavering support. His granddaughter, Skylar, was the light of his life, and he took immense pride in watching her grow, delighting in her every achievement. His home was also shared with his loyal canine companion, Momo, and his mischievous feline friend, Monkey, who brought him comfort and joy in his later years.
A true political activist, Paul was a beacon of hope and strength within his community. With an unyielding belief in racial and social justice, he devoted himself to advocating for those whose voices were often unheard. His commitment to these causes extended beyond words, as he was actively involved in various initiatives and organizations dedicated to equality, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, Paul's family kindly requests that donations be made to SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice), an organization that deeply resonated with his values and mission. Contributions can be made in his honor at https://surj.org/give/.
As we remember Paul, we celebrate a life marked by love, activism, and a profound sense of responsibility toward others. His legacy serves as a guiding light for future generations, encouraging us all to strive for a world filled with kindness and justice. Though he will be dearly missed, Paul's spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the change he inspired.
A private service will be held for family and close friends to honor Paul's incredible life and lasting impact. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown during this difficult time.
