Paul David Hazen
January 2, 1939 — February 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul David Hazen, a father, brother, and grandfather, who departed this life peacefully at his residence in Gig Harbor Washington on February 24, 2026, at the age of 87.
Paul was Born on January 2, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Michigan and raised by parents Arlie Clair and Goldie Hazen.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Hunt Hazen, his son Taylor Hazen, and his brother Gary Hazen. He is survived by his son Andrew Hazen and daughter-in-law Sherri, and grandchildren Quinton and Hailey Hazen. Paul also leaves behind his beloved brother Thomas Hazen and sister Lois Hazen.
Paul graduated from Milan High School in 1957. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Army for 2 years at Fort Knox. He maintained connection to this service by becoming a member of the American Legion.
Paul dedicated nearly 30 years to General Motors. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to operate several businesses in the Lapeer area, offering locksmithing, hauling, and handyman services.
A true son of Michigan, Paul considered Lapeer to be his forever home.
Paul was an avid follower of politics, staunchly supporting the Republican Party.
Paul's courteous nature endeared him to all who knew him, and he had an ability to lighten the mood with a joke.
Paul will be laid to rest in Hadley, a place that held his heart for over fifty years.
