Paul Allen Scott, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on October 18, 2026. Born on July 22, 1944, in Keokuk, Iowa, Paul was a beacon of love and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Paul was the cherished son of Louis Scott and Bernice Martin, who predeceased him, along with his sister Gloria, brother Danny, grandparents Allen and Lorena Martin, six aunts, three uncles, and ten cousins. Despite these losses, Paul’s spirit remained unbroken, sustained by the love of his surviving family: his children, Kevin Kelly and Anthony Scott, and his six treasured grandchildren.
Paul attended Douglas Elementary and Middle School in Bartlesville Oklahoma. His family later relocated to Long Beach California, where he continued his education at Poly High School.
Paul's formative years were spent in Long Beach California This move marked the beginning of a lifelong love affair with California, where he spent over 30 years as a professional painter with Clarance and Company. His artistry graced homes across Long Beach, Seal Beach, Naples, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Santa Barbara.
A man of faith, Paul accepted Christ at a young age and had a profound love for music, often singing at Holy Convocations with his Aunt Lois. His spiritual journey took him from West Side Church of God in Christ in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Greater Open Door COGIC in California, and finally to True Light Cathedral COGIC in Georgia.
Paul had an infectious love for life, evident in his hobbies and interests. He was known for styling natural wigs around his neighborhood and delighted in teaching his family to dance, with the Cha Cha being his favorite. His quick wit and warm smile were ever-present, and he had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to Paul's heart. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who come to celebrate his memorial service; your support means the world to us and you will be forever in our hearts.

Ecclesiastes 3:1–8
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up
that which is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones,
and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace,
and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.
