Patty Lou Zachary
August 24, 1937 — July 10, 2026
Patty Lou Zachary, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on August 24, 1937, in Springfield, Oregon, Patty was the cherished daughter of Steve and Elizabeth Prociw. Her life was a testament to love, grace, and unwavering faith.
In 1954, Patty married the love of her life, Robert P. Zachary, embarking on a journey together that spanned 53 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family, welcoming their children Kevin (Cheryl), Mark (Lisa), Kimi (Darrell), Matthew (Stacie), and Joseph (Zeitel), along with their devoted daughter-in-law, Katleen. Patty's legacy extends through her many grandchildren, Shannon (Jess), Tiffany (Jake), Leah (Luke), Heidi (Juaquin), Zachary (Rebecca), Josiah (Sheila), Anthony (Destiny), Kerah (Chad), Jessica (David), Mason (Peyton), Emilee (Kody), Reece (Emery), Benjamin, Judah, and Audra, and her 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Patty was predeceased by her husband Robert, her son Steven P. Zachary, her grandson Matthew Austin Zachary, and her dear parents, Steve and Elizabeth. She leaves behind a loving brother, Don (Marlys), and sisters, Sharon (Eric) and Lucinda (Robert), who will all cherish her memory.
Known for her remarkable kindness and gentle spirit, Patty never had a harsh word for anyone, gently reminding those around her to honor God in their words and actions. Her fervent prayers for her family were a daily ritual, underscoring her deep faith and love for them.
Patty's zest for life was evident in her passions. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed exploring antique stores, where she amassed an impressive collection of nearly three hundred Hull art vases. Her love for gardening was evident in the beauty she cultivated in her yard, and her dedication to speed walking was so notable that her unique style was affectionately dubbed the "Patty Walk" by her granddaughter, Jessica.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who lovingly tended to Patty over the past several years, providing her with comfort and dignity.
A service to honor Patty's extraordinary life will be held on July 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Gideon Bibles in her memory.
Patty Lou Zachary's life was a beacon of love, faith, and family. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
