Patty Lou Grigsby, born December 17, 1954, in the town of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on July 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Patty's departure from this world was as gentle as her spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished.
The beloved daughter of the late William and Eloise (Dunderman) Stewart, Patty was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Stewart. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Terry Grigsby, who was her loving companion and partner in life since their marriage on February 11, 1979. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter, raising their two children, Bradley (Kristin) Grigsby and Mary E Grigsby, who will continue to honor her memory.
Patty was the proud grandmother of three wonderful grandchildren Gavin Grigsby, Garrett Grigsby, and Gracelyn Grigsby, they brought immense love, joy and light into her life. Whether it was sharing stories, enjoying the outdoors, or simply being present in their lives having fun, Patty found her greatest happiness in the company of her family.
A graduate of Logansport High School, class of 1974, Patty dedicated 40 years to the Logansport Community Schools as an Instructional Assistant in the Special Education Department. Her life's work was a testament to her nurturing heart and compassionate spirit, as she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her kindness and patience.
Patty's life was woven with the threads of simple joys and cherished moments. Whether it was spending time outdoors surrounded by nature's beauty or creating lasting memories with her loved ones, Patty embraced life with grace and gratitude.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Community Health Network and Guardian Angel Hospice for their compassionate care during Patty's illness. Their support was a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.
In keeping with Patty's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to do so by supporting a charity of their choice to help children in need.
As we remember Patty, we hold close the family’s special message: "Forever in our hearts, and never forgotten." Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to a life lived with love and purpose.
