Patti Ann McManus Humber
December 22, 1954 — September 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Patti Ann McManus Humber on September 23, 2026. Born on December 22, 1954, in Anahuac, Texas, Patti was a vibrant spirit whose love and laughter touched all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of the late V.R. McManus and Margie Ruth Smitherman.
Patti was a proud member of the Anahuac High School Panther Alumni, graduating with the class of 1973. Her journey in life was marked by devotion to family, faith, and friendship. For over 25 years, she was a dedicated stay-at-home wife and mother, raising her sons with love and care. As her children embarked on their own journeys, Patti discovered a newfound passion in retail, where her charismatic personality allowed her to form lasting connections with people across the country.
A woman of deep faith, Patti gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age at Eminence Baptist Church in Wallisville, Texas. Her spiritual journey continued as she served in various congregations, including Calvary Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas, and finally at Victory Church in Brazoria, Texas. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, inspiring those around her.
Patti's interests revolved around her beloved family and friends. Whether she was embarking on adventures at the deer lease with the Humbers, dancing joyously, serving at the T.V.E. Information Booth, or lending a helping hand to a neighbor, Patti's presence was a source of joy and laughter. Her loyalty to her loved ones, her infectious humor, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Patti was predeceased by her parents, V.R. and Margie, her sister Tammy Ruth, and nephews Dwight Douglas and Starett Burk. She is survived by her sons, Will Humber of Jal, New Mexico, and J.D. Humber, II and his wife, Allison, of West Columbia, Texas; and her treasured grandchildren, Keaton, Abigail, and Everett Humber. Her family also includes her half-sister, Daphne Douglas of Dayton, Texas, her brother, Robbie McManus of Wallisville, Texas, and her sister, Tracey Burk and her husband Donnie of Wallisville, Texas. Patti's legacy of love extends to her many nieces and nephews: Denise, Laurel, Steely, Kate, Marlee, Zoe, Rylee, Stoney, Stetson, Kevin, Travis, and Colton.
A celebration of Patti's life will be held on September 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Cross Baptist Church, located at 6619 FM 563, Wallisville, Texas 77597. In a special tribute to Patti, the family invites friends and family to wear her favorite colors, black and leopard print, on this day, wherever they may be — a gesture that Patti would have loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Patti's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and love for others.
Patti Ann McManus Humber's laughter, kindness, and unwavering faith will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved, and she will be dearly missed.
