Patsy Pence

March 9, 1935 — March 20, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Patsy Pence, who departed this world on March 20, 2026, at the age of 91. Patsy, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, was surrounded by her loving family as she transitioned from this life. Born on March 9, 1935, in the quaint town of Blackey, Kentucky, Patsy Pence was a beacon of love and warmth whose legacy continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Patsy was the treasured daughter of Ramon Keaton and Sallie Miniard Hampton, who predeceased her. She was blessed with a nurturing upbringing, guided also by her devoted stepfather, Coy Hampton. Patsy was a sister, confidante, and friend to her brother Jimmy Keaton, with whom she shared countless childhood memories. In her life, Patsy experienced profound love and companionship. She was first married to Roy Marshall Pence, Sr., with whom she shared many beautiful years until his passing. Later, she found love again with her second husband, Billy Joe Boren, who stood by her side until the end. Patsy was a devoted mother to her children: Timothy Reed, Danny Marshall Pence, Zeda Rosser, and Roy Pence. Her family grew as she welcomed her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Pence and son-in-law Cole Deason, forming bonds that added depth and joy to her life. Patsy was the proud and adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren: Gavin Deason, Seth Deason, Joseph Salas, Makesha Gordon, Tim Rosser, Mandy Rosser, Robert Reed, and Christopher Reed. Her heart swelled with pride at her 11 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a twinkle to her eye and a smile to her face. A dedicated homemaker, Patsy created a warm and loving home filled with laughter and music. Her home was a sanctuary where family and friends gathered, and where she delighted in the laughter of her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly in her role as "Nanny." Patsy was an active member of Delmont Baptist Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a community of faith that enriched her life. Patsy's love for music was evident in her daily life. She could often be found humming a tune or swaying gently to her favorite songs, finding joy and solace in melodies that resonated with her soul. Her zest for life was contagious, and she relished every moment spent with her family, attending church, and staying active in her community. Though she is no longer with us in body, Patsy's spirit remains a guiding light for her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Patsy's life will be held at Delmont Baptist Church, where her family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the remarkable life she led. Patsy will be deeply missed, but her love will forever be etched in our hearts, a testament to a life beautifully lived and a soul eternally cherished.
