Patsy Madrigal

It is with profound sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of Patsy Madrigal, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Patsy was born on September 24, 1944, in El Paso, Texas, to loving parents Agustin and Concepcion (Concha) Madrigal. She departed this world peacefully on July 1, 2026, after a short yet courageous battle with breast cancer. Patsy is predeceased by her beloved parents, her infant son Joseph Parra Jr., her cherished sisters Annie Manley, Connie Elliott, Estella Urquidi, Julie McGowan, Isabel Madrigal, Margie Foldesi, Irene Hernandez, Teena Nemeth, and her brother Agustin Madrigal. Her memory is lovingly carried forward by her sister Sophia Childers, her daughters Sonia Parra and Isabel McMillan, their respective husbands John Bissonnet and Greg McMillan, and her treasured grandchildren Albert J. Askenazi, Hannah Bissonnet, Zoe McMillan, Alli McMillan, and Zaida McMillan. Patsy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend Virginia Diaz, who was a source of great comfort and joy in her life. Throughout her colorful career, Patsy worked various jobs, but her heart was most fulfilled when she dedicated her time to the Girl Scouts of America, advocating for immigration detainees as a bail bondsman, and expressing her creativity as a florist. Her passion for flower arranging was a testament to her love of beauty and nature, which she shared generously with everyone around her. Patsy was also an exceptional host, known for her entertaining skills that brought people together and created lasting memories. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her cancer care team at Honor Health Deer Valley, whose compassionate care and support touched Patsy and her family deeply. A celebration of Patsy's life will be held on September 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, located at 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Patsy's memory and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patsy's memory can be made to organizations supporting breast cancer research and patient care, reflecting her courageous spirit and desire to help others in their time of need. Patsy Madrigal's life was a beautiful symphony of love, resilience, and service. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
