Patsy Crock, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away at her home in the loving presence of her family on August 25, 2026. Born on April 24, 1942, in Fremont, Ohio, Patsy was the cherished daughter of John and Marilynn McKinny.
Patsy's journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to her family and her faith. In 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, and together they had two daughters, Pamela and Deborah. Tragically, Patsy faced the untimely loss of her first husband, but she found love once more with Samuel Crock, with whom she shared a beautiful life and welcomed three sons. Samuel, the love of her life, predeceased her, along with her parents, brother Michael, and daughter-in-law Angela Crock.
Patsy’s heart was her family, and her life was filled with the joy and laughter of her children, Deborah Cowdrey, Pamela Overmyer, Samuel Crock, Rodney Crock, and Jason Crock. Her legacy of love extends to her nine cherished grandchildren: Falon Franks, Ashley Overmyer, Venessa Canan, Courtney Twigg, Whitney Strietbeck, Kirsten Crock, Cameron Crock, Alexia Crock, and Jayce Crock, as well as her 13 great-grandchildren, who brought her endless delight and kept her young at heart.
A woman of great faith, Patsy was a devoted member of the Assembly Of God Church in Springfield, West Virginia, where she found solace and community. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she often shared her wisdom and infectious laughter with her church family and friends. Patsy was a beacon of strength and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer comforting words.
Patsy was also a skilled beautician, a craft she honed in Fremont before moving to Romney, West Virginia. There, she opened her own salon, Visions Of Beauty, which she ran successfully for over 30 years. Her passion for her work and her clients was evident in every style she crafted, and her salon became a place of friendship and connection.
Patsy will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her laughter that could light up any room, and the unconditional love she gave to her family. Her grandchildren often remarked that she was the rock of their family, a steadfast presence who leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patsy’s life at a service on August 26, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Assembly Of God, located at 9637 Cumberland Rd, Springfield, WV 26763.
In her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Patsy’s generous spirit and her commitment to helping others.
Patsy Crock’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

As I Sit in Heaven
As I sit in heaven
and watch you everyday,
I try to let you know with signs
I never went away.
I hear you when you're laughing
and watch you as you sleep.
I even place my arms around you
to calm you as you weep.
I see you wish the days away,
begging to have me home.
So I try to send you signs
so you know you are not alone.
Don't feel guilty that you have
life that was denied to me.
Heaven is truly beautiful,
just you wait and see.
So live your life, laugh again,
enjoy yourself, be free.
Then I know with every breath you take,
you'll be taking one for me.
