April 18, 1959 — July 24, 2026
Patrick Peter Odette, a devoted family man and accomplished professional, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with a rare form of leukemia. He was 67 years old. Pat was born on April 18, 1959, at UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, to his cherished parents, Norman and Catherine Odette.
Pat's early years were marked by his education at Brainerd High School, which laid the foundation for his pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree from Mankato University. He went on to build a successful career in Materials Management, eventually becoming the proud owner of Matrex Mold & Tool alongside his business partner and dear friend of many years, John Matson. Pat's professional journey also included a passion for flying as a private pilot, where he delighted in the freedom of the skies, whether for business or pleasure.
In the realm of his personal life, Pat found his heart's home with Lynn Thieman, whom he married on May 28, 1988. Together, they cultivated a rich and loving family life, welcoming two children, Tessa Norton and Kyle Odette, who brought immense joy to his days. Pat's legacy continues through his three beloved grandchildren, Graham, Sawyer, and Tucker Norton, who will forever remember their grandfather's kindness and adventurous spirit.
Pat's life was filled with vibrant pursuits and cherished hobbies. He shared unforgettable moments with his best friends raising pheasants and hunting, a testament to his love for the outdoors. Boating with his family across the waterways of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Florida was another passion that brought him endless happiness. Ever the industrious spirit, Pat found peace in the simple pleasure of taming the woods around his home, often with a chainsaw in hand.
He was a man of remarkable talent, particularly in home renovations, dedicating countless hours to perfecting his family home and a cherished condo in Punta Gorda, Florida. His dedication to creating beautiful spaces was a reflection of his commitment to those he loved.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Catherine Odette, as well as several dear family members, including NanJean Thieman, Uncle Joe, Abbey Catherine Calame, Baby McKew, and Dustin X. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lynn Odette, his children Tessa Norton (Jeff) and Kyle Odette (Maci), his brothers David (Paulette) and Paul (Barbara), his sisters Anna Marie Watkins (Ted) and Mary McKay, and his treasured grandchildren.
