Patrick Graue
April 25, 1957 — March 11, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Graue, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on March 11, 2026. Patrick, known to many as Pat, was a man of remarkable spirit and boundless generosity. He was born on April 25, 1957, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, to Norman Graue and Dorothy Carr.
Pat's early life in Bradford was filled with the love and warmth of family. He shared a special bond with his sister Bonnie Graue, who now resides in North York, Ontario, Canada. Pat was predeceased by his father, Norman "Butch" Graue, whose memory he cherished throughout his life.
In 1976, Pat answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the United States Army until 1978. His service was a testament to his character of dedication and commitment, values that he carried into every aspect of his life.
On June 3, 1983, Pat married the love of his life, Lorraine Thompson, in a beautiful ceremony in Decatur, Georgia. Their marriage, spanning 43 years, was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and mutual respect in Cumming, Georgia.
Pat was a master craftsman and the proud owner of a tile and stone company, which he ran for 36 years. His work was more than just a career; it was a passion that he pursued with enthusiasm and skill. His clients and colleagues knew him for his keen eye for detail and unwavering dedication to quality.
Outside of work, Pat was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in fishing, hiking, and working in his yard. His love for the outdoors was infectious, and he often shared these hobbies with family and friends. Pat had a unique gift for making those around him feel at ease, often through his great sense of humor and his love for people-watching.
An avid canner, Pat took delight in preparing and sharing homemade food. He found happiness in giving away the fruits of his labor, a gesture that spoke volumes about his generous spirit.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his devoted wife Lorraine; his sister Bonnie Graue; niece Richelle Collier, Gary and Brandon Collier of Newfoundland, Canada; Richard and Trace Bellefontaine of Canada; great-niece Amanda Posada, her husband Sebastian, and great-great-niece Ava Posada of Canada. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Claude Thompson and wife Jane Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia, and sister-in-law Laura and husband Bradley Sanford of Ellijay, Georgia.
A service to celebrate Pat's life will be held on March 25, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30144. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Veterans Administration Hospital of Atlanta for their compassionate care during Pat's illness.
In honoring Pat's memory, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and strive to emulate his kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
